Morrison fails the ADF, AGAIN
So I was watching the Prime Minister speak on television, delivering news on funding during this awful pandemic.
In particular, my attention was pricked when he stated before all the media present, and thus before you and me, that his government was committed to mental health services. To preventing suicides. To saving lives from mental depression, during this pandemic.
And yet he abjectly failed, yet again, to show a drop of compassion for ADF personnel both current and returned. Not a single comment made about ADF homelessness amongst returned veterans. Not a single ounce of compassion about ADF suicides.
And, of course, no mention whatsoever about any Royal Commission into any of these massive shortcomings by this federal government.
As President of an RSL sub-branch, I was utterly disgusted and simultaneously ashamed that he is our national leader and that his government is in power.
Back in February he promised a Commissioner to look into these key concerns but it seems that while mothers continue to grieve for their sons, daughters, and partners, the politicians are happy with their lot.
Mr Ange Kenos
